20 Ways to Create Your Own Style Series - Principle 10. The Neckline

The Neckline That Was Made for You: A Guide by Adler Type

Adler Fashion Coaching — Style Intelligence Series

There is a reason some necklines feel immediately right the moment you put them on — and others, no matter how beautiful on the hanger, never quite land. It is not about your body shape in the conventional sense. It is about your visual energy: the quality of line, movement, and feeling that your face and presence naturally emit.

In Adler Fashion Coaching, we work with four types — P, C, S, and M — each with a distinct visual signature. And that signature extends all the way up to the neckline. The neckline is, after all, the frame closest to your face. It sets the tone for the entire outfit before anyone reads a single detail below the collarbone.

Here is what each type needs — and why.

[Currently Testing] Amelie's AstroGlow 101 Course

Astrology Fashion Pisces Cancer Scorpio Taurus

So, I've been watching Amelie's videos on YouTube for the past several months. I really love her fashion style and presentation. I also found the idea of doing 12 mini actions aligned to each of the houses fascinating!

I finally purchased the program I think about a month ago. I will check the date and clarify later. But I will write a little bit about how it's been going so far.

I'm flying out tomorrow, so I can't do a long post though...

* * *

AstroGlow 101

#1. I was most excited about styling myself using my Venus and my Ascendant. As a 'Dressing Addict' I really couldn't wait to hear what her course would suggest for these two style elements.

I'm a Taurus Rising and a Pisces Venus. I did buy some date outfit clothes starting in November 2025, as I'm just ending my 5 years of celibacy (yikes!). And these were actually quite Taurus in quality. Demure, lady-like, appropriate. I've been using 2 different matchmaking agencies (Korea is so marriage obsessed & I couldn't find a regular dating service) and so the clothes were right for the occasion.

It was interesting note the distinction between the two though. Amelie says that our Rising sign is a lot about how our bodies are, and of course, as all astrologers say, the rising sign is our First Impression. That's quite true. I do have larger eyes and broad shoulders.

I think in terms of testing things out, dressing myself in Pisces vibes was the most precious experience. Living in a very urban, metropolitan city, Seoul, I don't really get to wear Piscean clothes. I mean, it's not the beach here. K-idols on stage dress all manner of fancy for show, but everyday Seoul life, it's definitely sophisticated due to its urban setting, and people here are really into personal grooming. They don't like messy updo's or messy buns. They don't typically like or warm up to crazy big hair. They really like things sort of manicured and polished. Buttoned up.

I'll say, on the streets, the younger gens definitely dress with more courage. Regardless of their body type, they tend to wear cropped everything.

Anyhow. Back to the AstroGlow. So, I was really impressed with the depth and coverage of the course overall. The Pillars cover a lot more than just style.

#2. But since, this blog is mostly focused on style, I'll just add the second bit here. I did also love Amelie's suggestions on Mars and 6H discipline. In some ways, that really got me to work on this blog again. My Mars is in Cancer in 3H, and its ruler sits in 10H Moon in Aquarius! So, yes, it's true. Practicing astrology does help my mental stability and calm. It's really strange how that works...

#3. In her course, the last Pillar, the 4th Pillar was about transits and progressed charts. I have been working with my progressed chart before, mostly for career and astrocartography. But I had not taken any actions until this program to think of using it for my fashion!

In my progressed chart for now, my rising is Cancer sign, and according to Amelie, the ruling planet of this chart is very important. So, that means for me, Moon in Scorpio in 5H should also be factored in. My progressed Venus is in Taurus. So, that's an interesting overlay. So, it's just very water heavy and a bit of earth, whether I'm going by my natal chart OR my progressed chart.

Astrology Fashion: Pisces Cancer Taurus Scorpio

I think just wearing 1 zodiac sign does give a clearer style identity. I felt a huge energetic shift when I aligned with Pisces. Maybe it's because it's exalted in Pisces and I'm also a triple Pisces in my natal chart.

Being a spiritual person, I know my Draconic Chart too. But sometimes too much can be a headache.

I am currently wearing some Cancerian, some Scorpionic, and some Pisces styles. I'm taking a break from Taurus looks.

I got my nails done in Pisces colors and pearl details. Which was a completely new thing for me.

To wrap up, I've found 1 place in the entire world that does not have malefic lines, based on astrocartography. It places my Venus on the DC and Jupiter on my MC exact conjunct. So, I'm flying out tomorrow to check it out.

It IS rather interesting to see how my stepping into Pisces wardrobe is now quickly panning out to me visiting a beautiful Florida beach.

But, more to come soon! Just wanted to keep you in the loop!

So, dear reader! What about you? Are you testing out any fashion/style/beauty system or products or service?

Tiktok 333 Challenge

So, I've heard of this new younger crowd's fashion challenge - which is a new spin on creating a capsule wardrobe.

Here's what it is according to Google's AI:

AI Overview

The TikTok 333 Challenge is a styling method where you select three tops, three bottoms, and three pairs of shoes to create multiple outfit combinations, demonstrating the versatility of a capsule wardrobe and promoting mindful fashion by using existing items. The challenge, popularized by TikTok creators like Rachel Spencer, is a great way to practice styling, discover new looks, and encourage minimal packing for travel.

How to do the 333 Challenge:
Select your items:
Choose three tops, three bottoms, and three pairs of shoes from your existing wardrobe.

Get creative with combinations:
Mix and match these nine items to create as many different outfits as possible.

Document your looks:
Share your styling process and the various outfits you create on TikTok using the hashtag #333method or #333challenge.

Benefits of the 333 Challenge:
Promotes creativity:
You'll be surprised at the number of new outfit combinations you can make with a small selection of clothes.

Encourages mindfulness:
The challenge helps you appreciate your existing wardrobe and the potential of each piece.

So, what's unique about this particular challenge is that unlike Project 333 or creating a capsule wardrobe using an odd number of items, this one actually focuses only on the 3 key items; tops, bottoms, and SHOES!

I'd never heard of creating outfits that left out outerwear and instead had shoes as the base. So, I tried just listing items and creating outfits for it. And I was quite surprised how versatile a range it gave me.

In the past, I'd have thought that fabric based outfit creating as one layer of styling a 'look' and think of shoes, bags, and other accessories as the other layer.

But as shoes do determine a very clear 'level of refinement' I found that if someone were to create a heavy duty minimalist capsule wardrobe, varying the shoes can really make a huge difference.

For example, if you chose one shirt or blouse, one t-shirt, and one tank top for Tops; a pair of slacks, a skirt, and a pair of shorts; pointy flats, a pair of sandals, and a pair of sneakers, you'd be able to create a big range of clothes that will take you to an office, an evening date, or a walk on the beach.

Tiktok 333 Challenge Example

The 9 Items - For a versatile wardrobe
  • white silky blouse long sleeves
  • white crew neck t-shirt half sleeves
  • black square neck tank tee cropped
  • beige wide leg slacks with pintuck pleats
  • black silky skirt below knee length
  • pointy flat shoes in black silk satin
  • beige wedge heel sandals in suede
  • Nike swoosh sneakers in ivory and wine

The Office Outfits
Let's take a look at 3 polished office outfits mixing the items.

Outfit 1: Classic Professional
  • White silky blouse (long sleeves)
  • Beige pintuck pleated wide slacks
  • Black pointy satin flats
Elegant and timeless—perfect for meetings or presentations.

This outfit is obviously one of the most Instagrammed one in the past couple of years with the whole 'old money look' or the 'demure look.' It's easy to style with a nice belt and some jewelry or watch.

* * *

Outfit 2: Modern Creative
  • White crew neck tee (half sleeves)
  • Black satin skirt (below knee length)
  • Beige suede wedge heel sandals
Relaxed yet refined—great for a creative office or casual Friday.

This outfit totally reminds me of Ashley Judd in 'Someone Like You.'

* * *

Outfit 3: Chic Minimalist
  • Black cropped square neck tank tee
  • Beige pintuck pleated wide slacks
  • Nike sneakers (ivory with wine swoosh)
Trendy and comfortable—ideal for a start-up or casual work setting.

This has that Gigi Hadid or Hailey Bieber vibes. All you'd have to add are some nice shades and a baseball cap. Very LA/NYC. And lately even in Seoul, we see a lot of fashion forward women wear the cropped tank tees.

The Evening Outfits

Outfit 1: Elegant Dinner
  • White silky blouse (long sleeves)
  • Black satin skirt (below knee length)
  • Black pointy satin flats
Chic and understated—perfect for a dinner date or classy evening out.

This combo reminds me of Dakota Johnson in the recent romantic comedy The Materialists. The white silky blouse we have above can be accessorized with a silver necklace as we saw her wearing them for formal and casual styles below. Rolling up the sleeves to expose the wrists will do the trick to make it less office-like.

* * *

Outfit 2: Casual Night Out
  • Black cropped square neck tank tee
  • Ripped denim shorts
  • Nike sneakers (ivory with wine swoosh)
Relaxed and cool—great for drinks with friends or a live gig.

This outfit would be great with a fun poncho or a trucker denim jacket, depending on where you're headed to with your best buds.

* * *

Outfit 3: Summer Soirée
  • White crew neck tee (half sleeves)
  • Beige pintuck pleated wide slacks
  • Beige wedge heel sandals
Effortless and fresh—ideal for a summer rooftop party or casual evening event.

The wedge heels give that raise and makes it wearable for casual office or for casual evening vibes.

* * * * * * *
Moving on, let's cover the casual weekend and beach vibes!

Outfit 1: Beach Day
  • Black cropped square neck tank tee
  • Ripped denim shorts
  • Beige wedge heel sandals
Add a nice big beach tote or shopper bag with your favorite sun hat or sunglasses, you're vibin' to the waves. Yeah, don't forget to roll up your sleeves and sunblock.

* * *
Outfit 2: Park Stroll
  • White crew neck tee (half sleeves)
  • Ripped denim shorts
  • Nike sneakers (ivory with wine swoosh)
This is definitely the city vibes outfit for a nice stroll in the park. It works for the US and Seoul! It's both understated yet a nice mix of semi-casual.  Not too formal, not too casual.

* * *

Outfit 3: Weekend Café Casual
  • Black cropped square neck tank tee
  • Black satin skirt (below knee length)
  • Nike sneakers (ivory with wine swoosh)
Going all black! It's a nice backdrop to an e-girl or goth outfit. It is a new take on that Audrey Hepburn look. So easy, so chic.

The cropped tank tee with the satin knee length skirt with pointy flats gives you just enough edge and je ne sais quoi.

And as you can see, there are many IG models and influencers sporting this look. The square neck tank tee cropped sported by Kaia Gerber on the bottom left and a softer feminine version of the crop tank and midi skirt worn by Kendall Jenner on the bottom right. (Sorry, I couldn't find the right image for a black on black look.)

OK. Well, there you have it!
According to math, with these 3 items, you can have at least 27 outfit combinations. If you wore the black tank tee with the white shirt or the white tee with the white shirt, then the numbers go higher!

OK. So, that's the math!
And we can definitely punch up more personality and mood with accessories, hair, and makeup. So these 27 will give us plenty to play with.

Now, given laundry cycles, most of us that aren't extreme minimalists will require more than 9 articles of clothing. But in terms of really getting to see just how much variety is actually possible with just the 9 is something to think about.

That's all for today! Thanks for reading!

Yours xoxo,
Noemi
